M/V MONT MANDARA (Douala Dry Dock)

Golden Marine Engineering Completes Complex Propeller Repair, Balancing, and Shaft Vibration Stress Analysis on M/V Mont Mandara in Douala Drydock

In 2022, Golden Marine Engineering successfully executed a major scope of propulsion and engineering works on board the vessel M/V Mont Mandara during its drydock stay at the shipyard in Douala, Cameroon.

The specialized technical intervention focused on critical drive-train components to restore propulsion efficiency and eliminate mechanical stress. The completed project scope included:

Propeller Repairs & Balancing: Comprehensive corrective work on the ship’s propeller, followed by precise balancing to ensure smooth hydrodynamic performance and minimize operational wear.

Assembly Works: Expert reassembly and alignment of propulsion components following the drydock repairs.

Vibration and Stress Analysis: Detailed engineering analysis and assessment of the stresses linked to shaft vibrations, ensuring the propulsion system meets rigorous operational safety standards.

This successful overhaul highlights Golden Marine Engineering’s technical proficiency in handling complex mechanical and structural repairs for commercial vessels in Central Africa.
